Our Vision

Our Mommie Village serves as a hub of resources and services that aid in healthy recovery and a smooth transition into motherhood. The sad reality of our healthcare system is that Black and Brown mothers and their babies die at a disproportionate rate than white moms and babies. Our Mommie Village is addressing these mostly preventable deaths by providing a more holistic approach to prenatal care and beyond. We create an environment where Moms can thrive through group support and one on one coaching and support. We strive to educate and empower mothers and families during what is most often the greatest transition and change in their lives! Learn more about our story and vision from our mention in the Washington Post.

Our Mommie Village Founder, Shyana Broughton

Meet Our Founder, Shyana

Shyana Broughton has worked with children and families for over fifteen years. She has always had a passion for birth since she was very young. It wasn't until the birth of her daughter did she find her place in the world fighting for birth equity for all. What began through experiencing her own children's births, Shyana has built a strong community of mothers and families, filling a void in the prenatal and postpartum care systems in Buffalo, New York.

Making a Difference, one Mama and one Baby at a Time.
